  Likeminded transporters of Import/Export Container and heavy goods came together to fight against injustice made towards trade by B.P.T., Traffic Police and Government of Maharashtra at that time, formed this association to guide their members in 1992. It was a need of time as there was no association of this kind was in extistance.

In 1992, the association started its operations with rented office at 39, Maniyar Building, 1st Floor, 116/118 P. D'Mello Road, Carnac Bunder, Mumbai - 400009. At the beginning nearly 40 members joined their hands together to form this association. Association at that time made several tours to curb police harassment on rode. It also fought against harsh enforcement rule of R.T.O. at various border check posts.

In the year 1996, association got registered with the Registrar of Society Vide Regn. No. 1524/1996 dated 20-11-1996. And in the year 1998, registered with the office of the Charity Commissioner, vide registration no.F-19873 (Mumbai) dated 24-2-1998. Member of the association was very keen in maintaining democracy in decision making and transference in accounts of the association. Association also participated in several strikes and took key role in negotiations with Government settling the demands of members.

Association purchased its own new office (on a leased-basis) from M.M.R.D.A. at B-1/112, 1st Floor, Wadala Truck Terminal, Anik Road, Wadala-E, Mumbai - 400037 on 12th July 2001. Premises area 34.45 Sq. Mtr.

Judging the efforts taken for the welfare programs taken over and there success members strength grown steadily and reached to nearly 450 till 2002.
